Does cold water raise your pulse or lower it?

Depends on how cold and what you do with it. I’ve never noticed anything special from drinking cold water. Unless I take big gulps of REALLY cold water, which can set off something called a ”brain freeze”. That’s very temporary but quite unpleasant and probably bumps my heart rate up a bit while it lasts. Likewise getting splashed with, or having a bath in cold water can also bring a little shock and a temporary elevated pulse. Drinking water at any temperature usually means STOPPING to have a drink. It becomes a pause, a little break in what you were doing. Which is likely to lower your pulse regardless.
